Together with its partners, about 800 employees work in 60 locations throughout the Province of Styria to create and maximise life opportunities in the areas of care and integration of persons with disabilities, particularly persons with intellectual disabilities. Jugend am Werk offers a complete range of services for the integration of people with intellectual and complex disabilities, such as work integration, housing, employment and leisure services as well as mobile services. Jugend am Werk Steiermark works with  about 2,200 clients in

  • 25 establishments in the areas of training, work and employment services
  • 34 establishments in the areas of care, leisure and accommodation services

Jugend am Werk Steiermark GmbH is a non-profit organisation and is certified to the European ISO 9001:2008 standard. The organisation was founded in 1948.

With nearly 300,000 inhabitants Graz is aiming to be the first municipality in Austria to fully implement the UN convention on accessibility for people with disabilities with a broad campaign for citizens’ participation in the process. Providing full accessibility for people with all forms of disabilities not only in relation to mobility but especially also at the political and democratic level has the highest priority on the political agenda. Moreover Graz is certified as city of human rights, the only one in Austria. In 2003 Graz was the cultural capital of Europe. The city’s social services department, which is participating in the PINE-D project, is responsible for all social services provided in the city, particularly  for disabled persons and will contribute with its know-how and expertise  to the project.

The Auxilium core mission is the intensification and promotion of cultural and educational exchange between the South-Eastern regions of Europe (South-Eastern, Austria, Slovenia, Western Hungary, North-Western Italy and Croatia) and other regions of the European Union, the development of educational standards at the national and European levels, and the creation of sustainable thematic networks on a European scale.
